Genetic compatibility research. Man and woman taking oral swabs of themselves for genetic testing as part of research into the links between genetic compatibility and human relationships. This research, carried out by GenePartner, continued earlier research into how humans select sexual partners. Research has shown that body odour and HLA (human leukocyte antigen) immune system molecules play a role. HLA is also known as major histocompatibility complex (MHC). These studies of genetic compatibility have led to the GenePartner formula that predicts whether two individuals will have a long-lasting and fulfilling romantic relationship.
