Textile industry machinery. Industrial machine used in the production of cotton textiles. This machine was manufactured by the Platt Brothers, a British textile machinery manufacturing company based in Oldham. By the end of the 19th century, it had become the largest textile machinery company in the world. This photograph, from circa 1875, is from an album of photographs of the company's machinery.
