Historical anatomical artwork of a dissected abdomen seen from the front, showing the deep-seated organs and major blood vessels after the removal of the intestines and stomach. The organs revealed include the pancreas (top) and the kidneys (below pancreas). The abdominal sections of the vena cava (main vein) and aorta (main artery) divide in the groin into iliac branches for the legs. The bones visible are those of the pelvis and the hips, including the upper parts of the femurs (thigh bones). This artwork dates from around 1880.
