Rash of warts covering a man's hand and fingers. Warts (medical name verrucae) are of viral origin, and are more common in young people. There are several types: juvenile warts, which occur on the hands and face of children; larger common warts (as here), predominantly found on the hands; plantar warts on the sole of the feet; venereal warts, sexually-transmitted & found on the genitals & around the anus. Warts may disappear spontaneously or they can be removed with chemicals or frozen off using liquid nitrogen.
