Duplex kidney collecting system. X-ray of the abdomen of a 78 year old male patient who has bilateral duplex collecting systems of the kidneys. This is a congenital (present at birth) condition where each kidney has two urine collecting systems that empty into two ureters. Ureters are the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder (bottom centre). This condition is usually asymptomatic.
