Brecciated quartz, close-up. Breccias are rocks consisting of fragments cemented together in a matrix. This one contains quartz coloured red by iron oxide, and angular pieces of white quartz, broken by the opening of the lode. This specimen is part of the Geoscope geological park, located between Les Monts-Vert and Albaret-Sainte-Marie, central France.
