Abnormally large intestine. Coloured 3D computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen of a 62-year-old patient with an abnormally wide (megacolon) and long (dolichocolon) large intestine (centre). These two conditions together are known as mega-dolichocolon. Here, the intestine has been inflated with air in order to aid visualisation during the scan.
