Coloued scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a cell's cytoskeleton. The cytoskeleton is made up of three types of proteins; actin filaments, microtubules and intermediate filaments. The cytoskeleton maintains the cell's shape, allows some cellular mobility and is involved in intracellular transport.
