This chip is designed to quicken the processes involved in the identification of viral DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) by speeding the process up to just three hours, instead of what would normally take months to accomplish. Known as Advanced Molecular Detection (AMD) this new technology will be able to assist not only in viral genetic mapping, but also genetic decoding of pathogenic parasites and bacteria.
