PETROGLYPH: SUPERNOVA. Dr. John Brandt of NASA examines an ancient Native American petroglyph which he believes commemorates the sighting of the supernova (exploding star) which created the Crab Nebula in 1054 A.D. The petroglyph is near the ruins of the village of the Great Kivas, near Zuni, New Mexico. Photograph, 1975.
