Polarised light micrograph of potassium salicylate, C7H5NaO3, (potassium 2-hydroxybenzoate), an analgesic and antipyretic drug. It is used in preparations for the treatment of acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and warts. It may be used as an alternative treatment for people sensitive to aspirin. Magnification: x271 at 10cm wide.
