Dental implants. Dental impression transfer posts on dental implants in a 45-year-old female patient with missing teeth. Three implant fixtures have been surgically embedded into a holes drilled in the patient's jawbone. Impression transfer posts, seen here, have been mounted on the implants. These posts are used when making an impression (a dental mould) of the surrounding teeth and the implants. The impression is used to make properly shaped and aligned crowns, which are then mounted on the implant fixtures.
