Initiation device patent, 1909. Artwork of an initiation device invented by Ulysses DeMoulin. The device allows a person to sit on the back of a model goat and experience unpredictable movements. The goat is attached to a tricycle base and gears provide the eccentricity of movements. 'Riding the goat' was an initiation prank practised by secret societies in America, such as fraternity houses and Freemason groups.
