At top centre are anterior (Fig. 3) and posterior (Fig.4) views of the uterus at birth. Fig. 5 and 6 show the uterus in the abdomen at birth. At centre are anterior (left) and profile (right) views of the reproductive organs of a 10 year old. At bottom centre is the uterus and vagina of an adult woman who has not had children. At bottom are the uteri and vaginas of a 71 year old that had children (right), and an 81 year old that had children (right). This anatomical artwork is plate 75 from volume 5 (1839) of 'Traite complet de l'anatomie de l'homme' (1831-1854). This 8-volume anatomy atlas was produced by the French physician and anatomist Jean-Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797-1849). The illustrations were by Nicolas-Henri Jacob (1781-1871).
