Handcoloured copperplate drawn and engraved by John Curtis for his own 鈥楤ritish Entomology; being Illustrations and Descriptions of the Genera of Insects found in Great Britain and Ireland;' London; 1834. Curtis (1791 1862) was an entomologist; illustrator; engraver and publisher. 鈥楤ritish Entomology' was published from 1824 to 1839; and comprised 770 illustrations of insects and the plants upon which they are found.
