Members of the Brighton Swimming Club, who pride themselves on swimming every day of the year taking their daily dip from Brighton beach on one of the coldest days of last century in the early 1990s. They were awarded 'Under 40' certificates that day for swimming in the coldest seas since 1963 - a blood freezing 38 degrees F (9 degrees C) British stiff upper lip being demonstrated by three sea bathers at Brighton in the freezing winter weather.
