Academician Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849-1936). Distinguished Russian Physiologist. Won wide renown in the first period of his works, for his numerous researchers on the physiology of digestion and the innervation of the cardiovascular system, for which he was awarded the Nobel prize in 1904. The second period of his work was wholly devoted to a study of the high analysis activity, in the course of which he evolved his theory of conditioned reflexes which revealed the physiological background of human and animal psychology.
