Unknown Asiatic wilderness penetrated by man for the first time . A group of Russian scientists have recently returned to Leningrad after a prospecting expedition in the heights of the Pamir mountains in Central Asia . They covered the snow covered wastes of the Pamir Plateau , taking observations and making photographs during their journey . They were the first people to penetrate this section of the Pamir mountains .
