Boy rescues airman from burning plane . Reginald Turner , a 14 year old schoolboy of Ravensdene Wood , Kent , saved the life of Dr J Littledale , house surgeon at Canterbury Hospital , when his plane crashed at Charing in Kent . But for the presence of mind of the boy , Dr Littledale would have been burned to death . the doctor had just waved a greeting to his father as he passed over Charing in a private machine , when the airplane nose dived to the ground and burst into flames . The boy dashed up and , without a moment ' s hesitation , plunged into the wreckage and dragged Dr Littledale from the machine , badly injured .
