Miss Paddie Elrane Naismith , the well known woman racing motorist and aviator , who was once chauffeuse to the Prime Minister , is shortly to set out on a daring journey in an attempt to beat the Rome Express in a race from Paris to Italy . Her car is being fitted with special fuel tanks as it will be necessary for her to make the entire journey without refuelling . The Paris to Rome express takes 32 hours and Miss Naismith will have to average more than 42 miles an hour during the trip in order to beat the train . When the train passes through the Simplon Tunnel she will have to ascend the mountains above the tunnel . Miss Naismith will make the journey quite alone .
