If the expectations of Dr Peter Carl Goldmark , a twenty six years old Hungarian engineer , are realised a televised news service in every cinema and home will be possible in the immediate future . Dr Goldmark has devised a system by which news and sporting events can be transmitted from the actual scene to the cinemas sound apparatus and thence onto the screens , producing an image equal in brilliance and size to that of the usual talking film . Dr Goldmark has also invented a " vest pocket " television projector for the home which throws the transmitted picture in black and white on a special screen . Dr Goldmark has been able to reduce the width of the normal frequency band by half . His " complete Television News Service " transmitter is mounted on a van and can be moved from place to place . It is effective even in comparative darkness . The inventor , as head of the television laboratories of the Pye Radio company at Cambridge , has demonstrated before Prince George . Dr Goldmark , who is a grand nephew of the famous composer , is shortly visiting America . Photo shows ; Dr Peter Carl Goldmark with his invention . 21 August 1933
