Bridge claimed to have world ' s biggest span completed in France . A new bridge , claimed to have the largest single span in the world , has just been completed across the River Lot in France . It links Villeneuve and Castelmoron . The span is more than 146 metres in length . The bridge was tested for safety with 400 tons dead weight and 250 tons of traffic .
