Fifty perish when Norwegian villages are wiped out by tidal wave . Tidal waves 200 feet high rolling into the deep waters of a narrow fjord wiped out two Norwegian villages of Tafjord and Fjorna . The waves bore down with a terrible roar , bringing thousands of tons of rock crashing from the mountain sides . Many villagers were drowned as they slept and the death roll is fully fifty .
