The children ' s ' Oranges and Lemons ' service , at which the Bishop of Rockhampton , Australia , preached , took place at St Clement Danes ' Strand , the church immortalised in the age old nursery rhyme . At the close of the service the Bishop , assisted by the Rector , the Rev W Pennington Bickford , distributed oranges and lemons to the children .
