Children learn to be parachute-jumpers. Even young children may now learn to be parachute jumpers in Russia, where parachute jumping is the most popular of all sports. Miniatures practice towers, similar in design to the big ones used for the training of grown-ups, are now available in all the Moscow children's parks, and they are constantly besieged by young people anxious to follow the example of their elders. The towers are about 15 feet high and the descent lasts only a few seconds, yet the training afforded is said to be of great value besides providing thrills for the children. A trained instructor is always on duty. Photo shows: the instructor fastening a parachute to a young daredevil about to make a descent from the miniature practice tower in a Moscow children's park. 26 May 1937 [?]
