Employing a new "gyro-tiller", a plough for digging, and men working day and night shifts. Mr Lloyd George, veteran politician who is now 75, is turning 160 acres of idle land into a market garden in record time. The land, which adjoins his farm at Churt, Surrey, has not been intensely cultivated for many years but already half acreages is ready for planting. The men work at night by searchlight. Photo shows: Lloyd George, white hair swept by the wind, giving instructions to the operator of the gyro tiller on his new farm. 17 October 1938
