King's First Engagement A Family Farewell at London Airport, 31st January 1952 As Princess and Duke Leave for Kenya The King, keeping his first official engagement since his illness, went with the Queen and Princess Margaret to London Airport today to bid farewell to Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh who left the airport for Kenya on the first stage of their Commonwealth tour, on which they are deputising for the King and Queen.
