Thirty-eight British schoolboys - all with ample figures - went to Lime Grove television studios, Shepherd's Bush, London, for screen tests. They are candidates for the role of Billy Bunter, the fat boy of Greyfriars School, in a children's television series for the new year. The stories are based on the famed writings of Charles Hamilton, now 80 years old - the creator of schoolboy characters whose adventures have been devoured by generations of real-life schoolboys - and will deal with Greyfriars and the doings of Billy Bunter, fattest and greediest boy in the school. Picture shows three candidates for the Billy Bunter role at Lime Grove Studios. Left to right are rear - Arthur Gray 15, James Scudder 15, Michael Pullen 17, and Brian Dodsworth 15. In front are Andrew Nutt 12 on the left and Adrian trill 12 on the right. All come from London - 3rd December 1951. - 固opFoto
