Driver Albert Edward Gunter , aged 46 , of Dalston Garage , driver of the bus that ' jumped the gap ' on the Tower Bridge on Tuesday , was today congratulated by Mr John B Burnell , Operating Manager of London Transports Centra Road Services and present with a special award of 瞿10 in recognition of his resourcefulness and skill. It was on Tuesday last that the Bridge opened as the bus was crossing . Driver Gunter with 20 passengers on his bus , had just reached the divining line between the Bascules when he saw the road dropping in front of him .
