Three policemen were murdered on 12 August 1966. The entire police force of London was alerted tonight following the killing of three CID men in a road outside Wormwood Scrubs prison this afternoon. The three policemen had stopped in their car to question some men on a parked car in the road alongside the prison when the shots rang out, one being shot through the windscreen of the police car.
