Farmers all over the country are busy clamping potatoes for the winter. This means that potatoes are heaped into a long mound - sometimes stretching over half a mile - and then covered with straw. Earth is put at the foot and near the top to bind the straw. Photo shows a busy clamping scene at Tick Farm, Southchurch, Essex. October 23rd 1935
