At her final moorings . Faslane, Scotland ; The battleship , HMS Anson ( 35 , 000 tons ) is tied up for the last time - at the wharf of the Shipbreaking Industries Ltd ., at Faslane . Completed only 15 years ago , the Anson has been laid up for some time in the Gareloch , only about a mile from the yard where she is to be broken up . Scrapping her is expected to take about two years . Two other battleships are soon to go to the breakers ; the King George V and the Duke of York . 18 December 1957
