Foundation building of Blundell's School, Tiverton, Devon, founded by Mr Peter Blundell, clothier, of Tiverton, in 1604, has been purchased by the old Blundellian society and handed back to the school. The building into the tomb was vacated by the school in 1882 for new premises are from the town. A ceremony at Tiverton the deeds of the school were handed to Sir John Heathcote Avery, chairman of the governors of the Blundell's School, by the Duke of Somerset, was one of the school's many illustrious sons. 1 July 1946
