Women versus crime. The Mayfair Detective Agency, believed to be the first of its kind to operate with an all feminine staff, has commenced operations from an office in Baker Street, London. Annette and Beatrix (the surnames are withheld for obvious reasons) are ready to take on anything, and neither comes to the task without extensive prior training. Annette, a brilliant record of detection. For 22 years she has assisted the police in fighting the traffic in drugs, and in nightclub cases. Her partner Beatrix, 26, tall, dark and attractive, has just doffed the uniform of the Metropolitan police after five years service with C Division, for which she was highly commended. She is finding that her role of glamorous lady detective needs lots of clothes and lots of coupons, photo shows, Beatrix and Annette (seated) do a little detecting in the comfort of their Baker Street Office. 27 August 1946
