To the memory of Sir Francis Drake was the toast of the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Cllr Harry Taylor, at a ceremony known as the Fyshing Feast held at Burrator, Dartmoor. The Lord Mayor drank a toast to the memory of this famous English man with water from the Burrator Reservoir, in a goblet presented to Plymouth in the year 1585 and later, in keeping with his old ceremony, the cup was passed down the lines of councillors and guests. 6 July 1947
