A number of Cabinet ministers have been recalled from holiday to attend an emergency meeting in London today, in view of the economic situation, arrangements were made before Parliament rose for the summer recess for the calling of such meetings if it was thought necessary to discuss any developments which ought to have the personal attention of the ministers. Among those attending today's meeting work Mr Attlee, Mr Bevin and Sir Stafford Cripps. 17 August 1947
