The second of a series of emergency meetings of the cabinet took place today. The primary purpose of the meeting was to hear the report of Sir Wilfred Eady, fresh from Anglo-American financial discussions in Washington. Considerations regarding the suspension of sterling convertibility and the possibility of waving by America of article nine of the loan agreement, which binds Britain to equate her empire purchases with those from America, expected to be laid before the Cabinet by Sir Wilfred.
