The mineral Marcasite is an iron sulfide (FeS2), like pyrite, but it has an orthorhombic crystal structure, while pyrite's crystal structure is cubic. Marcasite's crystal habitat is often tabular, in this specimen displaying a terraced arrangement. Color is bronze yellow with a more or less metallic gloss.
