Net-casting spider. Net-casting spider on its web spinning a 'net' (lower right). Net-casting spiders (family Deinopidae) build specialised webs that they suspend between their front legs and use as nets to catch prey. When prey approaches, the spider stretches the net two or three times its relaxed size and propels itself onto the prey, entangling it in the web.
