Kyoto sanjusangendo zu, View of Sanjusangendo in Kyoto, Utagawa, Toyoharu, 1735-1814, between 1764 and 1772, print shows a wooden building, Sanjusangendo, a Buddhist temple housing 1001 statues of Kannon, a Buddhist goddess, with an archer kneeling at one end shooting an arrow into the bull's-eye of a target at the other end of the building. Also shows the judge's stand and a long promenage on the left with many pedestrians and street vendors
