Meanwhile in La?ka; Vibhi?a?a had been urging his brother Rava?a to repent of his sin in abducting another's wife and to return Sita to Rama. Despairing of Rava?a's wickedness and folly; Vibhi?a?a has abandoned him to his fate; and he and a few of his followers have flown from La?ka to join Rama.
