Jugurtha (160 BC - 104 BC); the Berber leader and sovereign; King of Numidia; led by 112 BC a series of conflicts against the Roman empire; in alliance with the father Bocco The King of Mauretania. In 108 BC Gaio Mario obtained his first consulship; and forcing the African armies to a frontal clash inflicted on them a crushing defeat. The King of Mauretania then signed a secret agreement with the Romans; in the person of the young man tied Lucio Cornelio Silla (138 BC - 78 BC); who handed Jugurtha in 106 BC.
