Crowned Lemur (Eulemur coronatus). This animal is endemic to the northern forests of the island of Madagascar. Its body can reach lengths of 35 centimeters, with a tail that can grow to 45 centimeters. The crowned lemur is a social animal living in matriarchal groups of between 5 and 15 individuals. It feeds mainly on fruit and leaves, but will also occasionally take small vertebrates and bird's eggs. Photographed at the Duke Primate Center, North Carolina.
