The Snow Goose (Chen caerulescens) is 19 inches in lenght and has a wingspan of 58 to 59 inches. They pure white with black wing tips, a pink bill with black "lips," and pink legs. Snow geese migrate approximately 3,000 miles from their Artic breeding grounds to their southern wintering areas. They can average 50 miles per hour and attain an altitude of 2,900 ft durning migration. This individual was photographed in Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Reserve of New Mexico.
