The Reeve's Muntjac Deer (Muntiacus reevesi) features dark facial stripes which run from the eyes down the front of its face. These stripes are most prominent in the males and form a "V" shape. The frontal facial stripes emphasize the tear glands which are located in front of the eyes. The Muntjac Deer is considered primitive in comparison to other kinds of deer and are characterized by their small size, distinctive hunched back, and elongated upper canines. The Reeve's Muntjac is found in the countries of China, India, and Malaysia. This individual was photographed at the World Wildlife Zoo in Phoenix, Arizona.
