The eyelash viper (Bothriechis schlegelii) is a small arboreal snake of Central America's wet forests. Their names comes from the shape of their supraciliary scales, which form spine-like projections above the eyes. They are sit-and-wait predators, feeding mainly on small lizards, frogs, birds and rodents. The species is polymorphic, found in many colors and patterns. They blend in well with several tropical fruits within their range and sometimes wrap themselves around these fruits, waiting for their prey to come within striking distance.
