Baby Western Lowland Gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla), an herbivore native to Western Africa. Gorillas are the largest of the primates. They share 97-98% of their DNA sequences with humans. They are our next closest relative after the chimpanzee. This baby gorilla is nursing. Mammals are distinguished from other animals by the presence of hair and by the feeding of their young with milk produced by mammary glands. Congo exhibit at the Bronx Zoo, New York.
