Flower or crab spider, (Thomisus spectabilis), on Yellow button flower, (Helichrysum rupicola). Crab spiders are small spiders with a leg span of about 2 cm. They occur Australia-wide and are free-roving, not web builders. Typically they perch on white or pale flowers, waiting for their insect prey. The spider in this image has assumed the yellow colouration of its host flower.
