A Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) migrating to spawn. This fish was photographed in late October on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. This species is an example of land locked salmon that were introduced to the great lakes in 1968. The species have become popular with sport fishermen and tourists. This species can grow up to 1.5 meters in length. This species is also native to the Pacific Ocean.
