Blister beetles (Epicauta marginata) congregate in large numbers to mate. A male will pursue a potential mate, rapidly (and with repetition) brushing her abdomen with his antennae, while his front legs are stretched out perpendicular to his body. During courtship, the female often feeds. Adults feed on a wide variety of plants, including this virgin's bower (Clematis virginiana) in Pennsylvania.
